Hi All, If your looking for a firewall (check out this link to find out what a firewall is) or want to change from a free one, you can go over to the ZoneAlarm’s website and download a free version of there zonealarm pro software, But only for today!
Zonealarm will hand out the software program for free to be precise, it will be free starting at 6 AM PDT on Tuesday 18 (that’s 2PM for you and me in the UK) and remain so for the next 24 hours.
The following page will provide access to the download: ZoneAlarm
Users who download Zonealarm Pro will receive the software program for free including its one year subscription. The package would normally cost $39.95 for a year. The Zonealarm Pro suite contains a firewall and anti-spyware application.
The website is slightly overrun by thousands of other users who want to grab their free copy, but try and get it sooner rather than later as the best spots are probably going to be among the first to download it.
Hope this helps!
Note: the license key will be valid for a year for use on one computer.

Just to warn people, This one’s a virus. Today I recieved an email (with an attachment) to my main @coja.co.uk email account (before you think it, I only recieve emails to specific email address not just any @coja.co.uk address - those get automatically deleted) saying it was from the ‘ICS Monitoring Team’. My first thought was ‘oh crap its orange suit time’
but then rational thought kicked in again… after some digging, the website that it was sent from has been hacked and is currently in forced maintance mode from there hosting company.
If you have received an e-mail from an ICS Monitoring Team, delete the message. There is an attachment that includes a virus that comes along with the message.
The message reads as follows.
Your internet access is going to get suspended
The Internet Service Provider Consorcium was made to protect the rights of software authors, artists.
We conduct regular wiretapping on our networks, to monitor criminal acts.
We are aware of your illegal activities on the internet wich were originating from
You can check the report of your activities in the past 6 month that we have attached. We strongly advise you to stop your activities regarding the illegal downloading of copyrighted material of your internet access will be suspended.
Sincerely
ICS Monitoring Team
If you do need an antivirus program I recommend AVG - AVG Anti-Virus is a highly popular Anti-Virus software tool, and with the new version now released it now scans for Spyware as well, best of all it’s totally free

So i though i should start my first ‘proper’ blog post with something really good and google has given me something amazing to blog about. Today Google launched ‘Google Chrome’, a new open source browser intended to create a better web experience for users around the world (me thinks IE and Firefox should start to worry!). With most things made by Google, Google Chrome is really well made and even though it is still only in BETA its stable and quite fun to use.
>>If your looking for some laughs check out Google Chrome’s Comicbook here<<
(and see how many other browsers they mock)
Google Chrome was designed to make it easy for users to search and navigate the web for the content they’re looking for, heres the best bits so far:
- “A combined search and address bar quickly takes users where they want to go, often in just a few keystrokes.”
- “When users open a new tab in Google Chrome, they’ll see a page that includes snapshots of their most-visited sites, recent searches and bookmarks, making it even easier to navigate the web.”
- “Google Chrome was engineered to deliver a seamless web experience for users. At its core is a multi-process platform that helps to provide users with enhanced stability and security.”
- “Each browser tab operates as a separate process; by isolating tabs, should one tab crash or misbehave, others remain stable and responsive, and users can continue working without having to restart Google Chrome.” Thats the really cool point to make to anyone who uses Firefox! (as when in firefox a tab crashs you lose the entire window not just the tab).
- “Google also built a new JavaScript engine, V8, which not only speeds up today’s web applications, but enables a whole new class of web applications that couldn’t exist on today’s browsers.”
Anyway enough of me just download it and be amazed

Welcome to my first post and as you should know from my website by now, my name is Simon Llewellyn and I am a Web Developer.
I intend this blog to mostly be about games (probably PC and Wii as those are the two that I have), gadgets, TV, movies, the web and just general cool stuff that I find out and about. After much whingeing and whining (mostly from me), a thanks must go out to the folks who’ve been pestering me to blog for a year or so, Thanks
I’ll try to update this at least once a week or so.
So stay tuned!
